Houbara bustard is under the protection of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on nature protection

The official opening ceremony of one more center on the breeding of houbara bustards was held in Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. The farm is located in Bukhara region, Peshkun district (not far from of the lake Kara-Kir) on the area of 400 ha.
Houbara bustard is a rare type, but it is exposed to a man. In 2006 the leadership of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on nature protection conducted negotiations with international organizations on building the farm for breeding this type of bird, which is listed to the Red Book.
As a result in November, 2008 the Agreement of mutual cooperation between the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on nature protection and non-governmental non-commercial research organization «Emirates Birds Breeding Center for Conservation» was signed.
According to the date of econews.uz today there are more than 1000 birds in the center. In 2011 the first bred birds were let go in the natural conditions, and for two years about 200 birds were set free.
Many local and international specialists successfully work in the center. That is why in the arsenal of the labor practices there are only the latest methods and advanced technologies for breeding birds. The ecologically reasonable business on conservation and breeding rare birds created also job places for the local population.
