On the 27th of November 2012, at 16:00 in the State Art Museum of Uzbekistan in Tashkent the painting of the famous Italian artist of the XVI century Paolo Veronese “Lamentation of Christ” will be exhibited.
We would remind you that the painting was found out in October of this year in the c. The picture was found out under the paint layer of another canvas during the restoration and the picture now is in a good condition.
Some specialists are sure that in Tashkent museum there is an original painting. Meanwhile, the original picture of Veronese, painted in 1576-1582-s, is kept in the Hermitage Museum. It became the part of the collection in 1772.
A number of experts are in a doubt of the resolution of the State Art Museum of Uzbekistan. So, Ksave Salomon, the head of the collection of European Art of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New-York, who studied the photo of the painting, informed that the picture does not resemble the original one, and  most probably that another artist of the Venetian school performed the work in XVI-XVII centuries.
It is not known when and how the painting "Lamentation of Christ" could appear in the State Art Museum of Uzbekistan. However, the painting comes from the collection of the last Russian Emperor, Nicolay the II.
