Uzbekistan entered the top five most popular countries for gastronomic tourism

 

Analytical agency Tourstat determined popular among Russian tourists directions of gastronomic tourism in CIS countries.  This direction was chosen not casually - gastronomic tourism in the CIS countries is one of the fastest growing in outbound tourism from Russia in 2017.

The top 5 CIS countries popular for gastronomic tourism of Russians, include Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. 

The rating is compiled from the analysis of demand for gastronomic tours.  According to TourStat, the most popular gastronomic tours of Russians to CIS countries are trips for one week. 

For example, a gastronomic tour for 7 days from Russia to Azerbaijan or Georgia with air tickets will cost an average of US $800, to Kazakhstan and Armenia – US $900, and to Uzbekistan – US $1000. 

The first ten Russian destinations for gastronomic tourism are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow Region, Vladimir Region, Kazan, Tver Region, Tula Region, Altai Territory, Kaliningrad Region and Novgorod Region. 

Gastronomic tourism is traveling and gastronomic tours to get acquainted with the region or country through gastronomy, local cuisine and culinary master classes.
